A Dotdeed certificate is a decorative, commemorative keepsake, not a legal deed, and not proof of domain ownership. Where a domain is involved, ownership is determined by the domain registrar's registration record.
A domain is more than a web address. It's a name that's yours.
Your domain lives in the cloud, but your connection to it deserves to be physical. A Dotdeed certificate transforms your digital property into a beautiful, displayable document you can frame, display, and treasure.
Surprise someone with a framed certificate declaring their very own corner of the internet. Birthdays, business launches, milestones: a Dotdeed certificate is a meaningful, memorable gift they can hold.
When a domain comes with the certificate, it’s a real, registered domain, and the QR code on the print is how the person you give it to claims it. The certificate itself is a keepsake, not a legal document.
Choose from Essential, Premium, or Elite tiers. Premium and Elite let you set the font, colour and award title, and Elite adds an interactive editor for text, images and graphics. Your certificate, your way.

Everything for the domains you own: email, renewal and your details
Where a domain name becomes a keepsake worth framing.
Dotdeed transforms how people celebrate domain ownership. We craft premium, displayable certificates that turn a domain name into something you can hold: framed, gifted and treasured. Whether it's for yourself or for someone else, each certificate gives a name on the internet the ceremony it deserves.
A domain name is more than a web address. It's a meaningful gift. Register one for someone, pair it with a printed certificate, and they claim it by scanning the QR code on the print and entering the Registry ID from your confirmation email. Celebrate a new business, a milestone, or a name they'll grow into.
Everything in one place. Browse and buy in the Domain Shopper, design your certificate in the Studio, and keep every piece in your Vault.
A domain name is simply a name for a place on the internet. It’s what people type to find a website, like yourname.com, and it’s what comes after the @ in an email address, like hello@yourname.com. There is only ever one of each, so once a name belongs to you, nobody else can have it.
A shop puts its name above the door so people can find it. A domain does the same job for the internet: a name that points people to you. It’s easy to remember, easy to share, and yours alone.
As much or as little as you like. Some people build a website or set up a professional email address. Others simply keep the name safe for the day they want it, like reserving a name for a future business, a new baby or a club.
A domain is registered for a set number of years and then renewed, a bit like a magazine subscription. As long as it’s renewed, it stays theirs, and we send a reminder before it’s due so nothing gets forgotten.
A domain lives on a screen, which is exactly why it’s easy to overlook. Dotdeed makes it something you can hold. We register the name, print a certificate with their name on it (framed, if you like) and post it to you or straight to them. To claim it, they scan the QR code on the certificate and make a free account. That’s all: no technical knowledge needed, from either of you.
Not sure which name to pick? Try theirs, their business, or a favourite hobby. The Domain Shopper shows you what’s free.

Once your account owns a domain, a My Domains tab appears at the top of the site. It’s where you look after it: renew it, add email, point it at a website and, if you ever want to, take it somewhere else. Nothing is locked in. The domain is yours.
See when your domain renews and what the registry holds about you. Renew with Dotdeed in one payment (together with your Gmail, if you have it), or with the registrar yourself. We email you reminders before it’s due.
Get an address like hello@yourname.com: Gmail for your domain, or a simple inbox. We add the mail records; the Google or Zoho sign-up itself happens in your own account.
Every record that tells the internet where your website and email live, laid out in a table you can search, add to, edit and delete. Ready-made sets add a website, Google, Zoho or Cloudflare email in one go.
Nameservers decide who looks after your DNS. By default it’s us. Switch to Cloudflare or your web host by entering their nameservers, and switch back whenever you like.
A lock that stops anyone moving your domain without you, and the transfer code you need when you do want to move it to another registrar.
DNS is the internet’s address book. Your domain name is easy to remember; DNS records tell computers where to find your website and where to deliver your email. You only need this tab if you’re setting up a website, connecting a service or changing where email goes. The records you’ll meet most:
A change can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to reach everyone, so don’t worry if it hasn’t shown up straight away.
Careful with email records. If your domain has Gmail or an inbox on it, its MX and TXT records are what keep that email working. Edit them only when you mean to.
It’s your domain, so you can move it to any other registrar (the company that registers domain names, like Namecheap, GoDaddy or Cloudflare). You do it yourself in My Domains → Transfer & lock:
Every domain is registered with a registrar, and ours is ResellerClub. Until you claim a gift, we hold the domain for you. Once you’ve claimed it, it’s moved into your own account with the registrar, with the details you gave, and you’re emailed a login for it. New domains wait 60 days before they can move between accounts. While that move is waiting, My Domains still works: you can manage your DNS, nameservers and lock from there.
Printing and delivery, gifting and claiming a domain, refunds and returns, and who is responsible for domain renewal, all set out as short clauses in plain English, with the caveats in the small print.
A Dotdeed certificate is a decorative, commemorative keepsake, not a legal deed, and not proof of domain ownership. Where a domain is involved, ownership is determined by the domain registrar's registration record.

Your certificate will be printed and shipped to this address.
This is a gift: don’t redeem it yourself. Whoever redeems the Registry ID first gets the domain, so if you claim it, the person you’re giving it to won’t be able to.
Use an address you can open right now. Our registrar emails a verification link to it for your domain. If it isn’t clicked within 15 days, the domain is suspended.
Turn your domain into real email addresses like hello@yourdomain.com. We add the mail records to your domain and guide you through the rest of the setup.
